Standard credit cards work with the cardholder while using the card in order to pay for goods and services up to their agreed credit limit. Repayments are made every month at least once which must cover the minimum agreed repayment. These repayments will cover not only the capital borrowed but also the interest upon the amount borrowed. Standard credit cards should not be confused with debit cards. Most customers go for these types of credits of cards.

Charge Credit cards work in the similar way as normal credit cards but with one difference. In the case of Charge Credit Cards, the balance must be paid back fully, in every month. Charge cards are usually issued to either businesses or to consumers who may have had a bad credit history. If you have a poor credit card history then a charge card may be offered to you. Charge cards are also popular with the wealthy consumer since this type of card can offer credit practically without boundaries. It should be mentioned that if the cardholder fails to pay off their balance each month, then they could incur very hefty fines.

Platinum and Gold credit cards are issued to those applicants who earn a certain level of annual income. A number of benefits to the cardholder are given in this category. Higher credit limits are usually associated with this kind of credit card and if you fall into a higher income group with good credit history then you will be benefit from the advantages of this card.

Store credit cards will allow the cardholder to make purchases with a particular retailer on a credit account. Reward credit cards operate in a similar way to charity cards with an exception that the main recipient of any benefits is the credit cardholder. Charity credit cards offer all the general benefits and you can obtain charity credit cards for a whole range of diverse charities as well as organizations such as football clubs or universities.
